About Nurturing Threads
Nurturing Threads has been established as a not-for-profit business that sells Cambodian hand dyed, hand woven silk products, manufactured by the Tabitha Foundation.
Nurturing Threads has been appointed by Tabitha Foundation Australia as the distributor of Tabitha’s Cottage Industry Products in Australia.
The Nurturing Threads range includes homeware and bedware such as doona covers, pillow covers, cushions and runners, fashion accessories such as handbags, scarves and shawls, and other products including jewellery rolls, post-it note holders, and glasses cases. We also sell Tabitha's range of sterling silver earrings and decorations.
Nurturing Threads' silk products are available in a range of over 60 colours and come in smooth or rough silk. All items may be custom ordered or can be purchased from displayed stock.
Every product that is purchased is a win-win for Tabitha. Products purchased provide employment for women who are paid a fair price. Nurturing Threads returns profits to the Tabitha Foundation to assist with professional training and other family and community cottage industry projects.
The majority of Tabitha's administration costs are funded through cottage industry sales, allowing more donated funds to be allocated to the family development program, well building and house building.
What is Tabitha Foundation Cambodia?
Cambodia is one of the world’s poorest countries and many of its people live in absolute poverty. Tabitha Cambodia is a foundation which works with groups of poor families to help them to attain a better life, by developing sustainable cottage industries, administering a family development program, and promoting well building and house building programs. Tabitha has helped over 500,000 Cambodians to lift themselves out of poverty into lives of dignity, happiness, self-sufficiency and active participation.
Why host a Nurturing Threads presentation?
Hosting a presentation for your friends at home, for your colleagues at work, or at your church, school or group, is the most effective way you can personally support Tabitha. By hosting a presentation, you will be helping to make a difference to the Cambodian people by promoting the sale of these beautiful hand-made silk products and thereby furthering the development of sustainable cottage industries. If you wish to hold a Tabitha Foundation Australia-endorsed fundraising function in support of Tabitha Cambodia, we will also donate a percentage of sales to your fundraising, and also a handbag or other item as the prize in a raffle or as a lucky door prize. Corporate, school and church groups should hold a Nurturing Threads presentation prior to their Tabitha house building trips to raise awareness, raise funds, and support Tabitha's cottage industries.
